About Indra

After she graduated 1997 with a Master’s degree in textile design (University of Applied Sciences, Hannover, Germany) Indra gained her first experiences as a textile designer at fashion companies such as the S. Oliver Group and Esprit, Europe in Germany.

In 2006 she moved to New York and worked as a CAD & Textile MANAGER in the Fashion district where she designed prints for various prestigious labels such as Cynthia Steffe and Kenneth Cole Reaction.

Following her passionate idea to start a well edited, more sophisticated vintage studio she established Indra Larssen, LLC 2009 in New York.

Since then her collection constantly evolves, spanning different eras, styles, handwritings & techniques enriched by her latest findings from auctions, “brocantes”, “vide greniers” , flea markets & acquisitions of archives.

Through her monthly business trips in the US and in Europe she keeps a close, personal contact with her clients and can therefore better understand their individual needs.

In 2015 her Japanese agent, IGREK Intl., Osaka launched a promotion of a textile brand under the name “Indra Larssen” featuring a collection of modified vintage fabrics that found great success in Japan.

Always on the hunt for beautiful textile treasures of the past to be revived into new life her philosophy is

“Everything old is new again”

(Peter Allan).
